The Speedo Junior Kickboard assists budding swimmers with lower body isolation for serious kicking practice.
Designed For Training
The Speedo Junior Kickboard is a great starter training device for your developing swimmer. Unlike other kid kickboards, this one was designed to mimic the adult version in every way. Its sleek, durable design stands up to the challenge of swim practice kicking drills (as well as rough play). Without adding too much buoyancy, which leads to shoulder strain, the junior kickboard provides gentle support for the upper body and allows kids to fully focus on their stroke's kick. By isolating the legs, your child will gain the necessary strength to swim faster and more efficiently through the water. If your child isn't quite ready for kicking drills, then they might be better off with a more fun kids board, like the Speedo Mini-Kick.
Durable and Solid
Speedo's Junior Kickboard is made from hefty EVA foam. A popular material in the swimming world, EVA foam is non-water logging and extremely dense, providing a good deal of buoyancy without torquing the shoulders. Whether swimming laps or splashing around at the pool, the Junior Kickboard's durable design holds up to any rigorous use. Of course, adults can get in the action too with the Speedo Adult Kickboard. It's styled identically to the junior board, only slightly larger and longer to support the weight of an adult.
The Speedo Junior Kickboard measures 14" by 10" and weighs less than a pound (0.8 lb including packaging). This makes it an ideal training device to take with you no matter where your child swims.
The junior kickboard is available in two different color options. Choose from a vibrant royal blue with charcoal grey trim or an eye-popping of lime green with grey accents.
The AquaGear Opinion
The Speedo Junior Kickboard got high marks all around. Testers in the AquaGear pool were immediately impressed with the Junior Kickboard's high quality design. Unlike other, flimsier kid kickboards, this board's durable foam composition could easily withstand high level training sessions. The Speedo board tested well with child swimmers who were quite comfortable in the water and already decent swimmers. It was even buoyant enough to hold smaller adults and could be useful to swimmers who personally prefer smaller kickboards with low-buoyancy. It's a great training device to have on hand if you teach swimming as well. Adult boards are often too big and bulky to grasp, but the Junior Kickboard was just the right shape and size for smaller hands.
The Bottom Line
Because of it's durability and practicality, the Speedo Junior Kickboard is a 'must-have' device in your child's swim gear bag.
