The Aqua Sphere K-180 Plus Goggles give swimmers a field of vision that's wider than most competition-grade goggles. The anatomic lens shape provides a form-fitting seal that boasts an unbelievable 180-degree panoramic view.
As an esteemed member of the MP™ Goggle Collection, you're guaranteed a beautiful design alongside winning performance thanks to the expertise of Olympian Michael Phelps and coach, Bob Bowman.
Small But Powerful
Great things really do come in small packages! The Aqua Sphere K-180 Plus' no-fuss design is what makes it a powerful piece of swim gear. The 100% Softeril micro-gasket is not only ultra comfortable, but also lies extremely low to the face to help reduce drag. The curved lenses enhance hydrodynamics and create a slight, yet powerful, leak-resistant seal. While the goggle is quite durable, you don't want a compact item such as the K-180 Plus to get trampled in the bottom of your equipment bag. Lock the pair up tightly and securely in a padded Aqua Sphere Protective Goggle Case.
Ease of Use
Another small, but important feature is the pair's EZ adjust head strap. This offers swimmers a chance to alter the feel and fit of the goggle by simply pulling on both ends of the head strap simultaneously. The Aqua Sphere K-180 Plus also comes with three interchangeable nosepieces that can be easily switch in and out for optimal fit and comfort. The K-180 Plus is latex-free and comes complete with UVA/UVB protection, making it a great outdoor or bright-light goggle. While the lenses are already fog resistant, ensure that your panoramic view is always fog free by mixing in a few of the specially formulated Aqua Sphere Anti-Fog drops.
So you might be asking yourself, what really makes these goggles differ from other similar pairs? In fact, the design of the Aqua Sphere K-180 Plus goggles parallels several other Aqua Sphere models. One goggle in particular, the original Aqua Sphere K-180, is almost identical to the Plus design. Both goggles are renowned for their wide range of vision, but the K-180s are slightly larger than the Pluses. Aqua Sphere's Kaiman Goggles offer the same 180-degree view, yet are not as streamlined as the K-180 Plus Goggles. Better suited for recreational use, Kaimans offer more cushion and sit slightly further off the face as the other models.
The AquaGear Opinion
Aqua Sphere products always perform well in the AquaGear training pool and the K-180 Plus Goggles definitely did not disappoint. The lenses allowed swimmers to see more underwater with impeccable clarity. They loved the fact that even though the lenses were low profile they remained truly comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. The tried-and-true gasket kept the water out without leaving swimmers with dreaded raccoon eyes. And, as a side note, the testers really enjoyed that the pair was available in a wide range of stylish color options (great for matching your team colors or your current swim gear).
