With the Water Gear Swim Training Leash you can turn any sized pool into an endless pool! Make your swim sessions really count with the Swim Training Leash.
How It Works
The Swim Training Leash works when one end of the band is securely attached to the side of the pool and the other end, complete with non-chafing belt, is comfortably buckled around your waist. This allows the swimmer to maintain position in the water while swimming or exercising. The 20’ rubber tubing adds resistance to your swim out and can help give speed-assistance when swimming back. The tubing’s length is perfect for a 25 meter pool, but can also be doubled up to shorten the length and increase the powerful resistance for an even harder workout. While the leash might hinder working on the finer aspects of your stroke, it’s the ideal companion for fitness and cardio swimmers. Pair the Water Gear leash with additional training devices for a full body workout. The Hydro-Fit Wave Web Pro Gloves, which help enhance the natural resistance of the water, would be ideal for strength training the upper body while using the Swim Training Leash.
Why Are Stationary Swimmers Great
Also referred to as a tether or swimming harness, products like the Water Gear Swim Training Leash are great because they can turn any size pool into a lap pool. This means that you’re able to utilize your own backyard pool for fitness training. Stationary swimmers provide a great cardio workout and allow swimmers to work on all four major strokes within smaller waters. In principle, the Swim Training Leash is similar to other stationary swimmers available. The Aqua Lung America Stationary Swimmer Swim Training Leash comes with a soft, chafe-free fit and a quick release buckle. And the AquaVee Stationary Swimmer quickly and easily attaches to the side of the pool in order to give you an endless swim. All three products come highly recommended and adapt to fit the size and construction of your existing pool.
What It Includes
The Swim Training Leash set includes 20’ rubber tubing in a number of strengths. The Light resistance is in yellow and ideal for beginner or weaker swimmers. The Medium resistance bands are in blue and perfect for fitness and recreational swimming. And the highest resistance tubing comes in red and is great for competition level swimmers. The comfortable belt straps around the waist with an adjustable buckle closure. And the set also comes with a mesh carrying bag so you can take the stationary Water Gear product where ever you swim.
The AquaGear Opinion
It’s not very often that the AquaGear testers get to try out a unique product like the Swim Training Leash. While the set up was a bit time consuming, the AquaGear swimmers thought that it was worth the hassle because the product is able to turn any sized pool into a seemingly endless fitness pool. The waist attachment got high marks as well. Unlike other leashes that attach at the legs, the waist belt was more comfortable and felt highly secure. Also, the Water Gear product’s stretchy bands really helped add resistance to the test swim.
The Bottom Line
Instead of investing thousands of dollars on an endless fitness pool, pick up the Water Gear Swim Training Leash to get the most out of your training session… no matter the size of pool!
