Perfectly designed with little swimmers in mind, the Speedo Mini-Kick Kickboard is an ideal training tool for your junior swimmer.
The Speedo Mini-Kick was designed to fit perfectly into your childís swim routine because itís perfectly sized for their smaller hands and body. In fact, itís just the right size for kids who are learning to swim. The boardís buoyant design helps float and balance your little swimmer in the water. And because the Mini-Kick is smaller than other traditional kickboards, children are better able to grasp and maneuver the device. For reference, the Mini-Kick is smaller than Speedoís other kidís board, the Junior Kickboard. While also ideally shaped for childrenís body sizes, the Junior is better suited for slightly higher level kicking and general training drills. The Mini-Kick boardís compact and lightweight design makes it easy to take along with you no matter where your childís swimming lessons take place. Throw it, along with any other wet swim gear, into the Speedo Mesh Equipment Bag after a swim. The travel bag is made from 100% nylon mesh and allows for adequate air circulation in order to properly dry all your gear.
Ideal Training Tool
Because the Mini-Kick does such a good job at enticing weaker, newer swimmers into the water, it can serve as an ideal teaching and training tool. Not only will it help float more novice swimmers across long stretches of water, but it can also help to develop essential kicking strength and technique skills. Itís similar to Speedoís other learn-to-swim kickboard, the EPS Kickboard. Made from high density EPS, itís great for teaching kids kicking skills. To really get the most out of your childís training time in the pool, pair the Mini-Kick with Speedoís own Kicking Coach. This soft-to-the-touch device straps around the leg and helps secure the knee in the proper position without inhibiting movement. Both of these Speedo brand devices deliver a one-two punch to help your child learn to kick properly and efficiently.
The Speedo Mini-Kick kidís kickboard is recommended for kids aged 3-12 years old. Its durable EVA foam design measures 11.5 x 7.75 x 1.25 inches and can hold up to 132 pounds. The kickboard is available in either pink or blue. The blue board features fun shark prints, while the pink is covered in a flower print. The Speedo Tye Dye Kickboard also features fun, eye-catching designs. It is designed for ages 2 and up, but better suited for children who are confident in their swimming ability and comfortable with the surrounding water environment.
The AquaGear Opinion
Both adult and junior testers got to have fun trying out the Mini-Kick Kickboard. Adults thought that the size and shape of the board served as an ideal and fun way to entice novice swimmers into the water. The contoured and buoyant design was great at floating kids arms so that they could focus solely on their kick. Itís also important the kidís kickboard is small enough for child-sized hands to grasp. Many adult sized boards were much too large for beginners to use. Testers, young and old, thought that the Mini-Kick would be ideal for a swim school or for use during individual lessons.
The Bottom Line
Give your kids a training tool that they can really get their hands around. The Speedo Mini-Kick Kickboard is a great swim gear accessory that can help your child become a better and stronger overall swimmer.
