The Speedo Jr. Vanquisher Optical Goggles will help your child see him or herself clearly all the way to the finish line.
Optical Options
While the crystal clear vision and expanded side view that the standard Vanquisher Goggles provide are great, some pint-sized swimmers need a little optical help while in the water. Wearing glasses or contact lenses while swimming is unfeasible. But, thankfully, the Speedo Jr. Vanquisher Optical Goggles are available in various diopters in order to help your near sighted swimmer see more clearly. Ranging from -1.5 to -8.0, in -0.5 increments, there is a lens that’s just right for every swimmer. And when your child or student can see better underwater, there’s nothing to get in his or her way of swimming success.
Low Profile Frames
While the optically enhanced lenses help correct eyesight, the prescription goggles also incorporate an extremely low profile frame to keep the goggle close to the face. Because of this, the Vanquisher Junior Optical is perfect for race day. It was specifically designed for junior swimmers with a need for speed. In addition to the low profile lenses, the rigid frame also helps competition swimmers see more clearly by creating the ultimate waterproof seal. Because the frame is small enough to hug the narrow curves of a child’s face, the goggles stay comfortably and securely put during any swim. And if your child doesn’t need prescription goggles, try fitting him or her with Speedo’s equally as effective Kid’s Vanquisher Swim Goggle. Available in fun colors, the mini Vanquishers are great for exciting kids on race day.
Finding Your Diopter Strength
Although similar to your glasses prescription, swim goggle diopter lenses require a quick calculation to ensure that the proper strength is selected and post-swim headaches are avoided. Looking at your prescription, you'll want to locate the sphere and cylinder for each eye. Use the following formula to find the right diopter lens for you:
(1/2)(Cylinder) + Sphere = Diopter
Remember: Water will refract light and correct vision a bit without any prescriptive power applied. With that in mind, always select a diopter strength that is one step lower than the outcome of your calculation. If you need help, please give us a call or open a chat session for guidance.
Additional Specs
As with all outstanding Speedo goggles, the Vanquisher Junior Opticals provide UV protection and come with a special anti-fog coating. To further ensure that your child’s vision is always clear, use a drop or two of the Speedo Anti-Fog Solution to always keep bothersome fog at bay. The lenses are made from extra durable Polycarbonate materials and help protect the prescription lenses from scratching or breaking. Give your kid’s goggles a real fighting chance to last as long as possible by pairing them with the Speedo Goggle Case. They will further help keep lenses from getting scratched and damaged to ensure ultimate visual clarity. All materials used to make the Speedo goggles are 100% PVC and Latex free.
The AquaGear Opinion
The AquaGear pint-sized testers were ready to put the Speedo Jr. Vanquisher Optical Goggles to good use. The pair fit well on smaller faces and are ideally shaped for kids. The great thing about the prescription goggles is that they adapt to a variety of face shapes. But, while other junior goggles can fit narrow-faced adults, this pair is definitely just for children. The goggle’s low profile is ideal for training sessions or race day. The kid swimmers really loved the lenses’ great visual clarity and those that needed a little optical help really enjoyed their accurate prescription diopters.
The Bottom Line
Give your child the gift of crystal clear vision while in the pool. The Speedo Jr. Vanquisher Optical Goggles will help your mini swimmer to become the best swimmer possible.
