AquaGear Sponsors Center for Courageous Kids
AquaGear is proud to sponsor the Center for Courageous Kids
AquaGear became of aware of this great program through the Clorox Bright Future contest. We are pleased to be able to assist with their Aqua Program.Ed Collins, Camp Director, had this to say about the program.
“As a Camp Director that serves children with life threatening illnesses and conditions, I can proudly advocate an organization such as AquaGear in their provision of aquatic swim supplies that allow many of our clientele to enjoy a successful and empowering experience.”
“Our universal access indoor swimming facility provides a number of positive and nurturing outcomes for our campers that actively participate. Many of our campers have severe physical impairments. Using assistive floatation devices and working with a dedicated staff member, campers can actively accomplish therapeutic benchmarks in a manner that greatly minimizes physical stress, while also enjoying an aquatic opportunity.”
“Additional benefits occur socially for our campers, who are oftentimes denied the basic opportunity of social interaction due to their physical or cognitive limitations. Be it through major accomplishments such as learning how to swim in front of a group of encouraging peers, to team building activities acts such as collecting diving rings from the surface of the pool, our campers realize the joys of play and accomplishment while enjoying a traditional recreation option not available at home.”
