The Water Gear Guppy Trainer Kids Swim Fins are sized perfectly for little feet and help pint-sized swimmers zip around the pool.
Great For Teaching
Because the Guppy Trainer fins give a good deal of forward propulsion without adding too much heavy drag or resistance, they are great for teaching kids the basic fundamentals of swimming. Because of their lightweight design, they allow children to practice skills longer, without becoming overly tired. The fins’ pliable, 100% soft rubber helps mini-swimmers feel the water so that they can learn the proper kicking technique without any sort of equipment hindering their kick.
If you and your child are just starting off learning how to swim, there are a few other products, all that pair great with the Guppy Trainers, that can get you started on the right foot. The Finis Water Proof Kids Learn to Swim DVD is something that both kids and adults will enjoy. It includes segments dealing with teaching babies, toddlers, school aged kids, and even adults how to swim. And if your little swimmer needs a little extra support and buoyancy while first learning to enjoy the water, fit him or her with a pair of Water Gear Swim Wings. Made from heavy duty PVC, the ultra buoyant arm floats are easy to inflate and comfortable enough for extended wear. Or, take your child’s kick to the next level with the Speedo Junior Kickboard. Its small shape is perfectly child-sized and ideal for kicking and general training drills.
Additional Specs
The Water Gear Kids Swim Fins are sized for ages 2-5 years old. They feature an open heel design with easily adjustable straps that can grow with your child. The flexible rubber foot pocket remains comfortable and soft on delicate skin. And the colorful fins, which are sold in pairs, are available in neon orange, yellow and lime green. They are the perfect starter pair for your little swimmer. Finis has a similarly useful set of fins specifically designed with a child’s swimming needs in mind. The Finis Fishtail Fins are neutrally buoyant and produce forward propulsion with the slightest of movement. And for fins that do a little more teaching and correcting, try the Finis Kid Finz. They are designed to teach novice swimmers proper body positioning while in the water. The Kid Finz are also specifically sized for small feet and are made from soft, comfortable polyvinyl material.
The AquaGear Opinion
Once again, mini swimmers got to have all the fun when trying out these kids’ swim fins. The Guppy Trainers were easy enough for kids to fit and self adjust. And while the blade definitely helps push a child through the water, the fins’ material is soft enough so that it won’t add too much resistance. Of course, the kid swimmers loved the bright and unique color options. And the parents and supervising adults loved that the fins’ material remained soft on sensitive skin.
The Bottom Line
The Water Gear Guppy Trainer Kids Swim Fins are the perfect starter set for little swimmers. Pick your child up a pair today and watch his or her love of the water grow with every swim!
